Saló, or 'Le 120 giornatte di Sodoma'

Hi classmates, our democratic choice give us the result of THE CREEPIEST film that we ever saw as the topic to talk about in this sunny day. Watching films is one of my favourite things in the world, so I'm very pleased anyway. Im gonna talk to you about a great film that people tends to describe as creepy and disgusting the first time they saw it, and it's called 'Saló, 120 days of Sodoma', even the name sugest that it's gonna be about excess and madness, but well.. the director is one of my favourite artist of all time, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and a funny thing to mention is that actually this is a political film, full of criticism against corrupt politicians and 'the power' itself, rich people, etc. I saw it for the first time when I was 14, and I didn't understand a thing, but THEN I rewatch it a few years later (after reading some articles about it and a friend's recommendation) and finally catch the poetry behind the images.

The film is about a bunch of rich guys, politicians and so, who are really bored and decide to organize and orgy. So they kidnap some beautiful young boys and girls into a mansion in the middle of the forest. There they abuse, rape, torture and murder the teenagers in every possible way till they get tired. (The aggressors are so cruel that they even force the teenagers to eat their own poop)

This may not be the creepiest movie that I have seen, but It's one that I recommend cause I really love the way Pasolini put into images the discontented he feels with the bourgeoisie and what he thinks about politicians in general, the cruelty and indifference in their acts. I think that is a great movie, if you can stand the blood and the poop and those kind of things, but also I think that actually the repulsion is an important part of it.

  1. HI Francisca.

First of all, pls change the layout of your blog to English. This is done in "Settings" in the Dashboard of your blog.

I would also like to comment on your vocabulary, great job on that.

Nevertheless, there are important things you must pay attention to, for example:

"The creepiest movie I have ever seen (or watched) Past participle of the verb.

"People" is a plural noun, so the veb is TEND without final "s" as the "s" signals third person singular.

Also, when you refer to a fact, the tense used is simple present:

" I´m gonna (ONLY USED IN ORAL ENGLISH) talk to you about a great film that people TEND to describe as creepy and disgusting the first time they SEE it,

    Watch your tenses:

Aren´t you talking about something that happened before now?

"THEN I rewatch it a few years later (after reading some articles about it and a friend's recommendation) and finally catch the poetry behind the images."
